Diane Oxley, Residential DesignerIn 1994, after course work in Architectural Design and Drafting, Residential Carpentry and Residential Electrical Installation at Durham Technical Community College, Diane began designing and creating home designs and working drawings. Some of the professionals she was employed by are: W.W. Kingsbury, AIA, Durham, Tim Hoke, AIA, Durham, Dodge Amann, Inc. Architectural Firm, Raleigh, Heritage Custom Homes, Raleigh and Atlantec Engineers, Raleigh. In 1997, she obtained her North Carolina Contractor’s license and began a design/build company. She established a name for herself with her own clients by creating distinctive designs and working drawings for new homes, remodels, additions, renovations, affordable housing and custom homes. She designed these projects, created working drawings, obtained building permits, and followed through with the building process, culminating in a satisfied and happy client. Many of her projects have been awarded the Energy Star designation. |
Diane’s first love is design, good design practices and the design process, so in 2006 she decided to concentrate her efforts on that endeavor only; however, she brings her knowledge of practical construction issues, materials, and green building science to her design projects. Diane participates in ongoing continuing education through the American Institute of Building Design, The Home Builders Association and many other educational resources. A few of these courses are:
